Prayers of the Faithful

1 We thank you Lord for NAME's life, for his(her) love, generosity, strength, kindness and humour. Give him(her) his(her) reward for his many gifts to us.

For our brother(sister) NAME, that God will reward him(her) with peace and joy for the good he(she) did during his(her) life.

3 May nothing of NAME's life be lost, but may he(she) go on living in his(her) children and grandchildren through our love and memories of him(her).
4 In baptism, NAME received the light of Christ. Scatter the darkness now and lead him(her) over the waters of death.
5 We pray for NAME of SPOUSE and all his/her family and friends. Strengthen them with your grace and peace as they place their hope in you.
6 We pray for those of us here today that we will all come to know God in our lives so that we too may prepare for the hour of our death.

We pray for the hospital staff for the loving and tender care that they took of NAME in his(her) final days. May their continued work be forever blessed by God.

We pray for those who suffer from NAME OF ILLNESS. That God will comfort them and release them from their suffering.

9 Comfort us in our sorrow at the death of our brother(sister) NAME. Let our faith be our consolation and eternal life our hope.
10 Our brother(sister) NAME, was nourished by your body and blood at the table of the Lord: Welcome him(her) into your heavenly Kingdom.

For our brother (sister) NAME, who in baptism was given the promise of eternal life, may he(she) now be in the company of the saints.

12 Lord, we pray for all who have cared for our brother(sister) NAME. May you guide and strengthen them in their compassion and concern for all the people in their care.
13 We pray for all who have died. Especially all deceased relatives and friends, that they may find, in the presence of God, light, happiness, and peace.

27 God is full of mercy and compassion. May he forgive NAME any sins he committed through human weakness.
28 For the sorrowing family, relatives and friends of NAME, that you may find strength and consolation in your Christian faith and in the love and support of this community.
29 We pray for those here today, that our memory of NAME, whom we loved inspires us with a renewed loved for all our sisters and brothers.

33 Many friends and members of our families have gone before us and await the kingdom. Grant them an everlasting home with your Son.
34 Those who trust in the Lord now sleep in the Lord. Give refreshments, rest, and peace to all whose faith is known to your mercy.
35 The family and friends of NAME seek comfort and consolation. Heal their pain and dispel the darkness and doubt that come from grief.
