Psalm 23: The Lord is My Shepherd

Response. The Lord is My Shepherd, there is nothing I shall want.

The lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. Fresh and green are the pastures where he gives me repose. Near restful waters he leads me, to revive my drooping spirit.

Response

He guides me along the right path; he is true to his name. If I should walk in the valley of darkness, no evil would I fear. You are there with your crook and your staff; with these you give me comfort.

Response

You have prepared a banquet for me in the sight of my foes. My head you have anointed with oil; my cup is overflowing.

Response

Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me all the days of my life. In the Lord’s house shall I dwell for ever and ever.

Psalm 22: The Lord os my Shepherd

Response: Though I walk in the valley of darkness, I fear no evil, for you are with me.

The Lord is my shepherd
there is nothing I shall want.
Fresh and green are the pastures
where he gives me repose.
Near restful waters he leads me,
to revive my drooping spirit.

He guides me along the right path;
he is true to his name.
If I should walk in the valley of darkness
no evil would I fear.
You are there with your crook and your staff;
with these you give me comfort.

You have prepared a banquet for me
in the sight of my foes.
My head you have anointed with oil;
my cup is overflowing.

Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me
all the days of my life.
In the Lord's own house shall I dwell
for ever and ever.

2

Psalm 23: The Lord is My Shepherd (Sung: Version: Joseph Gelineau)

The Lord is my Shepherd and I want to follow,
Wherever he leads me, wherever he goes.
Over the mountains, the waters and byways,
Valleys and highways he`s waiting for me.

I want to go to meet him there,
To lay myself down in his love.
The Lord is my shepherd and I want to follow
Wherever he leads me, wherever he goes.

And while on the journey to where we are going
He promised to be there to help us along.
And over the mountains we`ll walk on together
To know all the wonders he`s given to me.

I want to go to meet him there,
To lay myself down in his love.
The Lord is my shepherd and I want to follow
Wherever he leads me, wherever he goes.

3

Psalm 23: The Lord is my Shepherd (Sung: Version: Crimond)

The Lord`s my shepherd, I`ll not want.
He makes me down to lie
In pastures green: he leadeth me
The quiet waters by.

My soul he doth restore again,
And me to walk doth make
Within the paths of righteousness,
E`en for his own name`s sake.

Yea, though I walk in deaths dark vale,
Yet will I fear none ill:
For thou art with me, and thy rod
And staff me comfort still.

My table thou fast furnished
In presence of my foes;
My head thou`dost with oil anoint,
And my cup overflows.

Goodness and mercy all my life
Shall surely follow me:
And in God`s house for evermore
My dwelling place shall be.

4

Psalm 23: The Lord is my Shepherd (Sung: Version: Brian Boniwell)

The Lord is my Shepherd and I want to follow.

And while on the journey to where we are going,
he promised to be there to help us along.
And over the mountains we’ll walk on together,
to know all the wonders he’s given to me.

I want to go to meet him there,
To lay myself down in his love.
The Lord is my shepherd and I want to follow
Wherever he leads me, wherever he goes.

4.1

Psalm 23: The Lord is my Shepherd (Sung: Version Goodall)

The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want,
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures,
He leadeth me beside the still waters.

The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want,
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures,
He leadeth me beside the still waters.

Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil,
Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil,
For you are with me,
You will comfort me
For you are with me,
You will comfort me,
Comfort me.

Surely goodness and mercy,
shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Forever
Forever
Forever

To You O Lord I lift my soul;
To You O Lord I lift my soul.

O lord, make me know your ways.
O Lord teach me your paths.
Make me walk in your truth and teach me;
For you are God my saviour

The Lord is good and upright and
Shows the path to those who stray
The Lord guides the humble in the right path
And teaches God’s way to the poor
The Lord’s ways are faithfulness and love
For those who keep God’s will.
The Lord’s friendship is for those who are faithful
To them God’s love has been revealed.

Psalm 41: My soul is thirsting for the living God

Response: My soul is thirsting for the living God: When shall I see him face to face?
Like the deer that yearns for running streams, so my soul is yearning for you, my God.

My soul is thirsting for God, the God of my life; when can I enter and see the face of God?

These things will I remember as I pour out my soul: how I would lead the rejoicing crowd into the house of God, amid cries of gladness and thanksgiving, the throng wild with joy.

8

Psalm 62: My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord my God

Response: My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord my God.

O God, you are my God, for you I long;
For you my soul is thirsting.
My body pines for you
Like a dry, weary land without water.

Response

So I gaze on you in the sanctuary
To see your strength and your glory.
For your love is better than life,
My lips will speak your praise.

Response

So I will bless you all my life,
In your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul shall be filled as with a banquet,
My mouth shall praise you with joy.

Response

You have been my help;
In the shadow of your wings I rejoice.
My soul clings to you;
Your right hand holds me fast.

Psalm 102: The salvation of the just comes from the Lord.

Response: The salvation of the just comes from the Lord.

R - The Lord is compassion and love, slow to anger and rich in mercy. He does not treat us according to our sins nor repay us according to our faults.

Response

R - As a father has compassion on his sons, the Lord has pity on those who fear him; for he knows of what we are made, he remembers that we are dust.

Response

R - As for man, his days are like grass; he flowers like the flower of the field; the winds blow and he is gone and his place never sees him again.

Response

R - But the love of the Lord is everlasting upon those who hold him in fear; his justice reaches out to children's children when they keep his covenant in truth, when they keep his will in his mind.

Psalm 114 & 115: I will walk in the presence of the Lord.

Response: I will walk in the presence of the Lord in the land of the living.

How gracious is the Lord, and just; our God has compassion. The Lord protects the simple hearts; I was helpless so he saved me.

I trusted, even when I said: 'I am sorely afflicted,' and when I said in my alarm: 'No man can be trusted'.

O precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of his faithful. Your servant, Lord, your servant am I: you have loosened my bonds.

11

Psalm 121: I lift up my eyes

Response : I lift up my eyes to the mountains where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

12

Psalm 122: Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord

Response : I rejoiced when I heard them say: Let us go to the house of the Lord.

I rejoiced when I heard them say: 'Let us go to God's house.' And now our feet are standing within your gates, O Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is built as a city strongly compact. It is there that the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord.

For Israel's law it is, there to praise the Lord's name. There were set the thrones of judgement of the house of David.

For the peace of Jerusalem pray: 'Peace be to your homes! May peace reign in your walls, in your places, peace!'

For love of my brethren and friends I say: 'Peace upon you!' For love of the house of the Lord I will ask for your good.

13

Psalm 129: Out of the depths, I cry to you, Lord.

Response: Out of the depths, I cry to you, Lord.

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord, Lord, here my voice! O let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleading.

If you, O Lord, should mark our guilt, Lord, who would survive? But with you is found forgiveness: for this we revere you.

My soul is waiting for the Lord, I count on his word. My soul is longing for the Lord more than watchman for daybreak.

Because with the Lord there is mercy and fullness of redemption, Israel indeed he will redeem from all its iniquity.

14

Psalm 142: O Lord, hear my prayer.

Response: O Lord, hear my prayer.

Lord, listen to my prayer: turn your ear to my appeal. You are faithful, you are just; give answer. Do not call your servant to judgement for no one is just in your sight.

I remember the days that are past: I ponder all your works. I muse on what your hand has wrought and to you I stretch out my hands. Like a parched land my soul thirsts for you.

Lord, make haste and give me answer: for my spirit fails within me. In the morning let me know your love for I put my trust in you.

Teach me to do your will for you, O Lord, are my God. Let your good spirit guide me in ways that are level and smooth.

Like a Shepherd

Chorus:
Like a shepherd he feeds his flock,
And gathers the lambs in his arms.
Holding them carefully close to his heart,
Leading them home.

Say to the cities of Judah
prepare the way of the Lord
Go to the mountain top lift your voice
Jerusalem here is your God.

Chorus

I myself will shepherd them
For others have led them astray.
The lost I will rescue and heal their wounds
And pasture them giving them rest.

Chorus

Come unto me
if you are heavily burdened
And take my yoke upon your shoulders,
I will give you rest.

Psalm 92

Response - It is good to give thanks to the Lord

It is good to give thanks to the Lord
to make music to your name, O Most High
to proclaim your love in the morning
and your truth in the watches of the night.

Response

Your deeds, O Lord, have made me glad,
for the work of your hands I shout with joy.
O Lord, how great are your works,
how deep are your desires.

Response

The just will flourish like the palm tree
and grow like the Lebanon cedar.
Planted in the house of the Lord
they will flourish in the courts of our God.

Response

Soil bearing fruit when they are old,
still full of sap, still green.
to proclaim that the Lord is just,
